I have some questions about a worm farm?
Question by PimpW/OaDogW/OaBone: I have some concerns about a worm farm?
Lol, I've been fishing a lot a lot more lately, and while I do use artificial baits and lures, the kind of fish I am "immediately after" lately seem to favor live worms.
So, I'm seeking to build a worm farm. Now, I have two questions.
1) Can you purchase a container of worms from a tackle shop, put them in the bin, and have them multiply/reproduce, or do you need to have all-natural, "Wild" worms to do that?
two) How fast do worms reproduce? If I buy twenty four, (or otherwise capture 24) will I have any a lot more than that in two weeks? I have a fishing trip planned then and I really don't want to spend the funds on expensive pre-contained worms.
Also, I have this question: I have been obtaining red wigglers just fine, but is there a way to discover actual big nightcrawlers, in the scenario that I cannot use retailer-bought ones? If so, how?
Thanks so a lot in advance.

There's a lot much more to breeding worms than you believe. Here's a link to an post which covers this. It is in two parts, so read each. But to answer your question, No, you will not have sufficient to take fishing in two weeks, so you will just have to get what you will need to have. the last link is a place you can purchase nightcrawlers by the pound wholesale for breeding/fishing.
