All the worms in my worm farm died with green stuff exploding from their bodies!?
Question by blueponywhiteduck: All the worms in my worm farm died with green stuff exploding from their bodies!?
I've recenelty had almost all the worms die in two worm farms, and all the worms had a bulging green bit in the middle of their bodies which later explodes, splitting them in two. I have a few theories as to why this occurred, such as pesticide on the vege scraps which poisoned them, or perhaps too considerably food added at as soon as and the farm became anaerobic, or even too significantly cabbage added at when (there was a lot of cabbage)
Has anyone had this encounter and/or know what caused this to take place? I appreciate any info you can provide.
Thanks!

It is possible they were poisoned. I'm assuming that these are vegeatble scraps from vegetables you've eaten. If you cleaned or washed off the scraps initial, it may possibly assist.
Nevertheless, how warm is the worm farm. If it gets too warm, this will kill the worms, and the bacteria in their stomachs will cause the stomach to swell as the bacteria breaks them down, creating gasses, which will ultimately trigger the stomachs to rupture.
This is the only thing I know of that would cause worms to explode.
Excellent luck.
