What type of worm farm do you want to start?
Vermi-composting farms raise worms and let them snack on various types of discarded organic waste. They convert the garbage into nutrient-rich worm poop (yep, I’m not lying) which makes for incredibly effective plant fertilizer.
These farms usually use the Red Wiggler, known to fisherman as the ‘trout worm’.
I keep my own very small worm farm in a large styro-foam box, occasionally adding clippings from my green house plants. It’s been very effective… I find tiny worms throughout the soil, meaning that they are reproducing in the small habitat.
As an added bonus, I get to add the highly-fertilized worm soil back into my garden plants from time to time… and I also don’t have to buy as many worms throughout the year for fishing.
The system works out very well.
